Overall Vision Originality
Technique ImpactAs with all my critiques I will start with the cons of the piece first, and then end with the pros, because I like to end on a good note.
The main thing that confuses me about this is those little floating things in the blackness. Not Discord's head, but the things that I finally realized were the Elements of Harmony. I had trouble telling what they were. Perhaps a little refinement could be added to those or some extra glow?
Now the pros (yeah, not many cons for this one). The atmosphere set by this is amazing. Discord is terrifying in the background. It's like he's lurking there, waiting to strike. And of course the way Twilight looks is heartbreaking. Now some people might take issue with how little there actually is on this piece, but in a way I feel that helps the piece. The overwhelming blackness exemplifies the utter emptiness and despair of the moment. The style was a nice choice too, but exactly why I like it so much I can't figure out. It just works.
Overall, the picture is a great compliment to the song. It captures the feelings to a tee, and for that I congratulate the artist behind it ^_^
